Elesa - HaPeS Award for the HCK-GL column level indicator

One of the most interesting categories in the vast catalogue of mechanical components for industry of the Monza-based company Elesa S.p.A. is that of accessories for hydraulic systems.

Among these, the HCK-GL column level indicator deserves special mention. The product, entirely ‘Made in Italy’, was designed, manufactured and patented by Elesa S.p.A. to guarantee the best performance in application sectors where it is necessary to read the liquid level of hydraulic systems, which may contain aggressive chemical agents.

The compact and essential design is original ELESA. HCK-GL is composed of two fixing terminals in black technopolymer, a transparent tube in Pyrex®* glass, an aluminium support and a transparent front protection in polycarbonate. What makes this product unique on the market is the modularity of its individual elements, which can be chosen from the standard range or customized with special lengths up to 1500 mm, thanks to the many customization options that Elesa S.p.A. offers to the customer. In particular, the Pyrex®* glass tube is the heart of the indicator, thanks to its excellent resistance to thermal shock and chemical agents.

The Pyrex®* glass, combined with the special O-Rings in FKM synthetic rubber type VITON** and the AISI 304 stainless steel screws, allows the use of HCK-GL in contact with aggressive liquids, such as solutions containing glycol, widely used in cooling systems or in low-temperature application contexts to prevent the liquid from freezing.

The transparent polycarbonate protection, located on the front, is extremely resistant to accidental impacts, as demonstrated by laboratory tests; furthermore, it is easily removable and allows cleaning operations in a very easy way.

Thanks to these structural features, the HCK-GL column level indicator always guarantees perfect visibility of the liquid level.

Numerous special versions determine a strong customization of the product, making HCK-GL very versatile in its possible uses. The special versions on request include, among others, the addition of a float, a built-in or external dial thermometer, a special screw with a tap for fluid discharge and an electric sensor pre-calibrated at different temperatures.

The SLCK kit is also available, thanks to which the HCK-GL level indicators, in addition to the visual control of the level, provide an electrical signal when the fluid reaches the established intervention level. Depending on the needs of use, it is possible to apply more than one sensor to obtain electrical control of the different levels.
